The Marsovin Summer Wine Festival is nowadays a sought after annual event in Malta’s summer calendar amongst both locals and also foreigners visiting our Island. The Festival is held in the magical surroundings of Hastings Gardens, Valletta, a location alone lends itself perfectly to a walk through garden wine festival whilst enjoying the majestic views from the bastions overlooking the Yacht Marina and Sliema harbour.

This year the event will be all the more special as Marsovin celebrates its 100th year anniversary.

The event has a highly cultural, entertaining concept offering a myriad of leading musicians each playing a different genre of music being stationed in different areas of the venue. Nevertheless the real stars of the night are the wines, offering over 30 different D.O.K and I.G.T wines from grapes grown around Malta and Gozo. With such a large selection of wines being showcased each of a different style and character, we are sure to hit all different palates, from the casual to the most sophisticated wine drinker. The food element cannot be left unmentioned as good wine and good food go hand in hand, for this reason we engage a variety of quality caterers each offering different kinds of Mediterranean dishes to complement best our wines.

How does it work?

A fee of €20 per person will be paid on entrance. Entrance price includes €20 worth of wine tokens and a Premium Festival Wine Glass which can be used on the night and then taken home. Wine tokens can be exchanged at all wine bars in the form of a taster, by the glass or by the bottle. At the end of the night any unused tokens may be exchanged for wine and taken home.

Entry tickets can also be purchased in advance starting from 17th June. These will be available from the Marsovin Cellars in Paola and The Master Cellar in Naxxar.

Youths under 17 years of age are not allowed to consume any wine.

Wine Education

This area will host a blind tasting of a selection of wines during three separate sessions every evening. Guests are invited to taste the wines on their own and try to identify the wines from a provided list. Then, one of our wine specialists will provide a guided tasting with information on the different characteristics of the grape variety, wine making techniques and what might affect its final flavour and style. The wines will then be revealed, and guests who successfully identified a number of the wines will receive a prize to take home.
